COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will give you an understanding and knowledge of accounting and its place within, and relationship to, the broader business environment. Graduates will have the skills to pursue careers in finance and accounting, or in broader management roles that require knowledge of accounting and an analytical approach to problem solving.

Our course is recognised by the main professional accountancy bodies and leads to substantial exemptions from many of their examinations. It is also sufficiently flexible to provide a sound basis for a career in general management or postgraduate study. Half of the modules in the final year are electives chosen by you, so you can choose modules to maximise professional examination exemptions, to pursue areas of particular interest, or to broaden your studies.

STUDY OPPORTUNITY IN LEEDS

You will spend approximately one semester in Leeds. During this period you will undertake further study at the University working with UK tutors and students.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants from India should have Standard XII at 60% or above. In order to meet the University’s English language requirement you should also have achieved 60% in Standard XII English language which is the equivalent to IELTS 6.0

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is through a combination of coursework, assignments, examinations, group work, projects, case studies and a dissertation. The emphasis is on having a variety of assessment to allow you to demonstrate your full range of skills

Our graduates are equipped with the crucial skills needed to gain a competitive advantage when starting their career within or outside accounting, and take up opportunities in both commercial and non-commercial organisations. Graduate students can taken up positions such as Management Information Analysts and Account Managers.
